What's happened so far in 2007

Thank you for your support over the past year; we have had a really successful time with new PPL’s, students and interesting flying under our belts. We've got plenty of ideas for the rest of the year; let’s just keep our fingers crossed for the weather……

Flyouts

As flyouts go we are looking at doing a night flyout perhaps to Prestwick leaving Carlisle in the Day and leaving Prestwick just as it becomes dark; for those of you without night ratings we can supply suitably night rated instructors!

If you have any flyout requests or are planning on going somewhere and want to cost share let us know and we'll try and arrange something.

Farrokh the Reindeer. You may have met him on the "About us" page (he's the one on the left!), it has become a tradition in the past few months to take him with us on our travels to different airfields, where we then take a picture to prove we were there (he also has his own Log book).

Check out Farrokh J Berkowitz on his travels

Social events

It’s always difficult with everyone coming from such a wide area to have social events but we will try, as ever you are welcome to call in anytime, you don’t have to fly!

Ratings

With the clocks going back now is the ideal time to get a night rating which is a nice addition to any UK or JAA PPL. Its a fairly straightforward five hour course which incorporates a night navigation trip over to Newcastle and an hours solo flying to get the necessary five solo landings in. If anyone is interested speak to Helen or Sam in ops.

We still offer IMC ratings to JAA PPL holders who are interested in challenging themseleves as well as AOPA Flying Companion, AOPA Radio-Navigation and AOPA Wings Award Scheme.

Tom has put together an advanced Cross-Country course, taking about 7 hours for those of you who want to go further afield (unlicenced fields, grass strips, crossing CAS etc) . If you feel like your flying has become a bit repetitive, come and have a chat about putting the fun back into flying, we'd be only to happy to design a little course
